Haiku

Banging and barking
Screaming, honking, speeding by
Behold: my neighbours

Deep meaningful words
Emotional responses
Meatlovers Pizza

Bandaid on my thumb
Coming off for the first time
Please get me some soap

All brace for impact
What’s the status of the shields?
Well shit, we are fucked.

Family

400 words today. Here goes:

“It’s what brothers are for.”  My brother’s words echoed throughout the house as I stalked the hallways, looking for the two intruders.  The smells of early morning dew crept in through the open windows.  In my hand, I held a hot glue gun and some papers – my weapons of choice.  The house itself was large, with tall rooms and wooden floors. The halls coiled around the rooms like vipers.

Only 200 today..

Only about 200 words today.  :/ C'est la vie.

Yikes

Already messed up! Thanks, life! :|

The Fence, Ch. 2

Here's chapter two of The Fence.  My chapters are very short, I know. I'm considering squishing them all together. Though, as I remember the books I read when I was younger, I think to myself that perhaps they would be fine as they are.

Chapter two touches on the dreams that those simply known as "dreamers" seem to have.  Maybe everybody has dreams in this town? Maybe not.  I'm planning on beefing this chapter up later, so this is just a first draft.
Chapter after cut.

Two in one

A man, shaped like an egg, waddled to the podium before the crowd. He pulled a large white handkerchief out of his front pocket and began mopping up the beads of sweat that cascaded down his bald head. His wrinkled white shirt puffed out of his neatly pressed black suit jacket, the collar stained from sweat...

The Fence

The Fence is the working title of one of the stories I am working on at the moment.  It's about a young girl who's grown up in a world filled with cold concrete, strict rules, and a giant chain link fence that surrounds her entire town.  She yearns to experience life on the other side, but is it everything she'd hoped it would be?

Chapter 1 behind the cut.

I look around the room and...

I look around the room and a feeling of anxiety swarms around me like a cluster of bees protecting their honey.   Everywhere I look, something is out of place.  A stapler, tossed aside, forgotten, sits right in front of me.  Cables run through the room like veins, pumping hot electricity to its organs.

My hand itches. I scratch it.  My eyes are drawn to the form of a simple hair tie lying on my cluttered desk.  Its black and white checkerboard design nearly hypnotises me.  How effortless, how inspiring the little oval is, simply existing.  Beauty in chaos.

Daily Writing Exercise

This blog hopefully will encourage me to work on my writing.  The general rule should be something like, "write at least 1000 words per day!" or something like that.  I hope that I can do it.
Well.  Here goes, I guess.
